Getting ready for winter!!!

So it started snowing yesterday evening and snowed pretty much the whole night threw and this is what we woke up to this morning. It is so pretty. There is nothing like waking up to the first real snow and feeling warm and cozy in your home. I just love that feeling. Makes you want to drink some hot chocolate or make some kind of baked goods.

This is a pretty early snow for here. Even though we live in Colorado you would be surprised at how much snow we don't get in the town I live in. Last year it snowed like 3 times to where it actually stuck to the ground and it was gone within a day after that. The mountians around us get tons of snow, but we live a little valley that is protected.
Now that there is some snow here I got to thinking if I was ready for winter. We just put new tires on our truck so that is a good thing. They were getting bad and Joe has to drive snowy road a lot to and from work.

So I decided to get out Luke's winter stuff and see if any of it still fit him from last year. He hardy used it but maybe once last year so I hoped I could still get some use out of it.

His snow pants and gloves still fit him so I was happy about that. He does need a new hat and a new coat. It is so hard to buy coats for kids. I never know what size to get him. I don't want to buy him one every year so I try to buy it a little big so it will last two years. He is a pretty big boy and wears big sizes for his age. He had a coat that we got his for spring, summer nights and fall. It is from Old Navy and it is a size 4T. It fits him just right. So I am thinking about getting him a 5T for his winter coat, but I am worried it will be way to big. We'll see I just need to go and have him try some on. I was going to order it online, but probably shouldn't. Well hope everyone had a great week.

Grandpa is coming to town!!!

Well my dad (Bill) and his wife Diana are coming into town tomorrow. We are really looking forward to seeing them. The last time we saw them was in May when we took our trip to Washington. This is his first trip out here to see us since we moved here. So it will be really nice to have them in our home. My Dad used to have friends that lived here when he was my age. So he is looking forward to seeing how things have changed here in the last 30 years. We don't have much planned he will only be here for two nights. We are just going to spend some time together and go see some sights. Well hope everyone had a great weekend.

Much needed update

Ok...well sorry to everyone that has been checking my blog and has been disappointed to see that Luke is still in the bubble bath..hehe. I can't believe it has been two months now since I posted. I have been super busy. I pretty much thought it might be point-less to post, cause I figured everyone had given up on me and was not checking my blog anymore. But oh well. So for those of you who might still check it, here is a much needed update.

Well a lot has happen since the last time I posted. We backed out of our house deal, so we are not buying a house right now. It was only a week before our loan deadline and Joe got layed off his job. No job no loan approval. We didn't really lose anything in the deal, just the money for the home inspection so that was good. We had really been praying about it and felt like it was probably not the Lords will for us to get the house and he made a way for us to get out of it, without losing our ernest money. Even though Joe lost his job, which wasn't good. He was hired by another construction company only 4 days later. It was such a blessing to only miss a few days of work. The company that he is working for now is sooo much better too. His previous work envirornment was not a good one...everyone like to party, expect him. So that was a blessing to get away from that.

I am babysitting again. I started the day that Joe got layed off his job. It is amazing how the Lord works things out. He knew Joe would lose his job and we would be needed some extra money to get us by till he got work again. Babysitting is not much but at least it can buy some gas and a few groceries. So I have been babysitting everyday (during the week) for a few hours in the morning. I watch a little 5 year old boy before he goes to kindergarten. Then I watch a almost 1 year old girl a few days a week in the mornings. It has been nice...doesn't take up to much of my day since I am done by noon everyday.

So let see what else has happen.....Joe sister got married. It was a very nice ceremony. We had a freak storm come through the weekend of the wedding and we had snow the day before the wedding. But it cleared up for the ceremony and we had nice weather...very cold, but nice. It turned out to be a beautiful day. We had lots of company come in for it and it was nice to see a lot of family.

So things are slowing down a little now, which has been nice. But we are going to get busy again soon. My dad and his wife will be here to visit in like a week and then my mom and her husband are coming a week after that. It will be so nice to see them again. Am really looking forward to it.

Well hope everyone has been well. And now that I have updated everyone on everything. I will try to post more often. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!

Bubbles Bubbles Bubbles

Hey everyone!!! It has been a little while since my last post. Things have been pretty busy around here lately. Plus I have been fighting off a nasty head cold for the last two weeks and am finally getting better.
~
So this is what is going on here in our lives. Joe's brother and his wife are going to have a baby any day now. We are so excited to get to meet the new addition to the family. Then next month Joe's sister is getting married. So we have been helping a little bit with the planning? I am also helping put on the personal shower for his sister. Also we are still in the process of buying a house. We are really getting excited and can't wait till the process is done and we can get moved in.
~
So here are some recent pictures of Luke. He had his first real bubble bath. He loved it. Now he has to have bubbles every time. It is really cute.

Our Camping Trip

So here are some of the pictures from our camping trip. We had a really nice time. We got there on a Thursday night. It is about a 10 hour drive to the camp ground. We set up camp and just hung out and visited the rest of the night. Friday we hung out around camp in the morning. Joe played some volleyball while me and Luke stayed at camp and played with bubbles and cooled our feet off in his little blow up pool. In the afternoon we went to some near by waterfalls. It is really beautiful. I would have took some picture of them but you have to walk down the water fall to get a good view of them. I have done that, but that was before Luke was born. Not to safe to do that with a kid now. But the teenagers love to do it. So we just stayed at the top of the falls and waded in a water hole. It was nice and cool. After that we went back to camp had a bbq and went to the church camp meeting.
~
Saturday was just more of the same stuff....hanging out with friends and family and visiting. We did go to Jackson Hole though and have lunch and walk around the stores for a while. It is a really neat town. Saturday night there was a singing around the camp fire and lots of visiting.
~
Sunday morning was church again followed by a potluck dinner. Then 7 teenagers got baptized. Including my sister-in-law Jewely's fiance' Josh. It was really neat. Everyone was really excited.
~
That was pretty much the highlights of the trip..we spent Monday morning packing up and saying goodbye to everyone. We had such a great time and enjoy it every year..although it is nice to come home to running water and electricity!!
