Getting ready for winter!!!

So it started snowing yesterday evening and snowed pretty much the whole night threw and this is what we woke up to this morning. It is so pretty. There is nothing like waking up to the first real snow and feeling warm and cozy in your home. I just love that feeling. Makes you want to drink some hot chocolate or make some kind of baked goods.

This is a pretty early snow for here. Even though we live in Colorado you would be surprised at how much snow we don't get in the town I live in. Last year it snowed like 3 times to where it actually stuck to the ground and it was gone within a day after that. The mountians around us get tons of snow, but we live a little valley that is protected.
Now that there is some snow here I got to thinking if I was ready for winter. We just put new tires on our truck so that is a good thing. They were getting bad and Joe has to drive snowy road a lot to and from work.

So I decided to get out Luke's winter stuff and see if any of it still fit him from last year. He hardy used it but maybe once last year so I hoped I could still get some use out of it.

His snow pants and gloves still fit him so I was happy about that. He does need a new hat and a new coat. It is so hard to buy coats for kids. I never know what size to get him. I don't want to buy him one every year so I try to buy it a little big so it will last two years. He is a pretty big boy and wears big sizes for his age. He had a coat that we got his for spring, summer nights and fall. It is from Old Navy and it is a size 4T. It fits him just right. So I am thinking about getting him a 5T for his winter coat, but I am worried it will be way to big. We'll see I just need to go and have him try some on. I was going to order it online, but probably shouldn't. Well hope everyone had a great week.

Yeah for the snow! Something I don't see often.

We heard on the news that you got snow, and that I-70 was down or something for awhile? Is that near you guys? Den thought it was by Grand Junction maybe.

Sounds nice a cozy! I've prepared us all for the snow here - it hasn't fallen yet but very soon. Sam's grown out of her stuff from last year so I still have to get a nice warm outfit for her. I just winterized her wardrobe and that sure was a job and a half!

It's always nice when you can find clothes from last year that will still fit this year. I'm the same way, I tend to buy things a little big, so that they'll last longer.

The snow makes me so jealous. It is still so hot here. Have fun and stay warm.
