The past 5 months with Drew

Drew Alan
5 months old
17lbs 26 1/2 in
Wow...can't believe it has been five months already. In another month he will be half a year old. Here are some of my favorite thing with Drew from the last five months.
- I love how happy of a baby he is. It doesn't take much to get him to smile. I love peeking over his crib in the morning to see him looking up at me with a big huge smile. (Or even in the middle of the night for a feeding)
- He is such a ticklish baby...getting him dressed or even changing his diaper can sometimes start a giggling session, and of course play time is full of lots of smiles and laughs.
-I love kissing his big soft cheeks, and stroking his soft, fine hair while he is nursing.
-He is kinda a shy guy. When I am holding him and someone he doesn't recognize tries to talk to him he buries his head in my chest. Or in a big crowd when a lot of attention is on him his little bottom lip starts to pucker out.
-I love how even when he is mad or hungry or tired he still wants to be happy. If I smile at him or try to tickle him you will get a few smiles or a laugh among the crying...so funny.
- I love how just before he falls asleep he makes this sweet groaning noise until his eyes finally shut.
Drew and Daddy. I have a picture like this with Joe holding Luke that looks almost identical. Will have to try to post them together to compare it.
Drew is starting to sit up with support from us and also from his boppy. He is liking seeing the world from an upright position and playing with his toys this way too.
His sleeping has improved since the last time I posted. Especially since I got this new sleeper called a "Woombie" It is a zip up sleeper with no arms. It is designed to feel like the mothers womb. It is great because it works for babies who like to be swaddled and babies who don't, because it lets them move their arms and legs around in the sack, but not too much to where they startle themselves awake. Drew used to like having his arms stretched out when he slept, but as he got bigger and more active he would wake himself up more at night. Plus it is great for night feedings in bed. His little arms are safe and secure inside the sack. There was a few times before the Woombie I would be feeding him and Joe would roll over on his out stretched arm. And it is great for reducing the risk of SIDS. No blankets to worry about covering his head. Can you tell I like this product...hehe. They have different sizes too. Newborn up to 20lbs and 30in long.
Here is a fun picture of Luke and Drew. I have loved watching them interact over the last 5 months. Luke loves his little brother and even though at times he is a little rough with him his intentions are good. He is usually sweet and nurturing. He talks and sings to him when he is upset and loves to try and make him smile and laugh. I can already see a bond between the two of them. Drew loves his big brother too. As soon as he sees Luke his face lights up. I hope they grow up to be close and be there for each other.

Hi Beth it's good to hear from you! It seems like forever since the last time I saw you. Your boys are adorable! Whenever Josh talks about us having kids one day he always says our boys. Your boys seem pretty precious...hopefully if we have boys they will be too! Well I'm glad you found my blog so we can keep up with one another!
